How do we get there?

Through employing deep expertise in an ongoing, repeatable process. Our customers might come in all different shapes, sizes and industries, but they all share a common problem – how to control and drive down the cost of providing and effectively managing their benefits. Here’s how it works:

Discovery Analysis Management Review
Identify Goals:

Manning & Napier Benefits will spend time to understand your corporate culture, goals, budgets and evaluate your current benefit packages. We will “pop the hood” on your contracts, your handbook and your demographic information. We will put together a multi-year plan to help stabilize your health plan costs, while also designing a personal health management program (wellness) and begin to evaluate vendors.

Compliance Review:

At this time, we will review your current benefits compliance, standard notifications, and plan documents. Manning & Napier Benefits provides template notices.

Initiate Value Added Services:

Begin set up for COBRA Administration, Wrap Documents, 5500 Preparation, Benefficiency (enrollment & benefits management system), and Dial Insights if applicable.


This time period is dedicated to analyzing your current funding methods, claims experience, and carrier adequacy. Consumer Driven Health strategies may be evaluated. Often, we will conduct an employee benefits survey to understand how plan designs and changes may impact your employee population.


We will make recommendations for changes in plan benefits or plan designs, disease management, and present alternatives for current or new plan options.


Manning & Napier Benefits will spend time to assist with communication to your executive team or board of directors. We will customize a design and champion a communications plan for open enrollment. Manning & Napier Benefits will help facilitate the full enrollment process to include:

  • Coordinate with carriers for materials
  • Facilitate employee benefit fairs
  • Conduct open enrollment presentations to all employees
  • Assist with written communications
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings, if necessary
  • Assist with education on consumerism, HDHPs, and HSAs (may be introduced earlier in the process)

We will facilitate the Personal Health Management Program and evaluate ongoing performance.

Service & Administration:

Your dedicated service consultants will assist with daily administration, billing issues, and claims issues. Manning & Napier Benefits acts as your advocate with the carriers.

Ongoing Planning:

We will schedule regular meetings to assess plan performance and costs. We will monitor changes within company culture and ensure that plans remain in alignment with company goals and objectives.
